EMTA EVENTS

EMTA sponsors numerous events during each year.  EMTA’s biggest single event during the year is its Annual Meeting, generally held the first Thursday in December.  The Annual Meeting is open to all EMTA Members and features Emerging Markets policy makers and government officials as key note speakers, as well as leading industry analysts and investors on its sell-side and buy-side panel discussions.

During the year, EMTA hosts panel discussions on market events and trends at its quarterly Forums, which alternate between New York and London.  In 2006, EMTA extended these Forums to Singapore and Hong Kong.  In 2006, EMTA launched two new series of events: a series on local markets which included presentations in New York and London on the Brazilian and Nigerian local markets, and an investor issues series, which commenced with an in-depth, three-panel discussion on  the topic “Implications of Partial Restructurings”.  EMTA was pleased to lead off its event calendar for 2007 with a new topic for a panel discussion: Emerging Markets corporate debt.

In addition, EMTA is particularly proud of its twice-annual sponsorship, since 1999, of the EM industry's charity balls, held in London and New York.  In 2006, these events raised nearly $1 million for EM charities.
